We have seen too many friends suffer in the past years - and we have lost people that we loved. I will ride on August 2  - on my milestone birthday - to do what I can to support and honor these friends who are fighting every day against cancer and what it, and the treatments, are doing to their bodies.

I ride as Living Proof to the benefits of cancer research - having been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016 and now have that in the rear view mirror.  I ride in memory of Jan, who lost her battle to pancreatic cancer and my dear friend, Betsaida, who lost her fight to ovarian cancer.  And I ride for Robin - who after battling breast cancer 17 years ago is now fighting lymphoma - agressively.  And she is a fighter, so no doubt she will be victorious.  

And I will ride to honor the memory of Talia Castellano (Winthrop), the daughter of our (Uncle) Marc who was taken from us too soon. This was a young woman who, in her pain, found joy and captured the attention of Ellen DeGeneres - http://youtu.be/y2eAzjEve0s . While this video shows a brave girl, I will always hold the memory of healthier days when she and Lily would play in both our Orlando and New Jersey living rooms.
