The Pan Mass Challenge gives me an opportunity to make a difference. I do not have a personal story of overcoming Cancer but I have watched family and friends face this head on. One of best and closest friends supported his mom through a 30 year fight with Cancer but recently watched her lose her battle a few months ago. Or a family friend facing the recent diagnosis with the fear and uncertainty it creates by holding onto every thread of hope they can. Cancer turns lives upside down leaving a path of fear. Every day is a challenge. I face every day as a new chance to make a difference. The Pan Mass Challenge is a difficult adventure but it is only a short beginning and end compared to the daily treatment, pain and fear Cancer causes. Riding along with hundreds of other cyclists reminds me that someone in this group may be facing the challenge some day. Riding each mile creates the hope that one day we can all face each day without the fear of Cancer. 100% of the funds raised will support cancer treatment and research at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
