Team “Arlington Angels” will participating in our 6th PMC ride the weekend of August 2nd & 3rd. We ride collectively in honor of the young lives of Patrick Doherty, Matthew Griffin and Catherine Malatesta. Three young Arlington natives and student athletes taken from us at far too young an age. In addition to riding in memory of the Arlington Angels, we ride in memory of our friend and neighbor Lt. Dan Kelly APD, who lost his own battle to cancer in May 2022.
With an ambitious goal of raising $1MM in ten years, we are now on the verge of hitting that milestone in only our 6th year as a team. Thanks to the hard work of our current and past team members and the genorosity of our freinds, family, neighbors, sponsors and colleagues.
We are also riding again this year in honor of our Pedal Partner Mia Lee of Needham. This will be our 4th year riding in honor of Mia who was treated at Dana Farber for leukemia from 2021-2023. We are thrilled to report that Mia is now in remission and is thriving. This is the reason why we continue to ride!
Team members include Mary Doherty, Dan Doherty, Steve Mansfield, Kate Hassan, Brett Hassan, Lauren Stauffer, Tricia Verrier, Robert Kelley, Mark Lombard, Mike Hogan, Laura Mei, Eric Smith, Frank Casstellucci, Sarah Walker, Matt Mansfield, Luke Mansfield, Peter DiCarlo, Dave Moran, Joe Halice, Rob Hegarty, Jen Malatesta, Greg Malatesta, Reid Malatesta, Andrew Malatesta and Taylor Goodwin. Please join us as we ride together in our pursuit to Belt Out cancer.
Collectively, The Angels rasied $215,000 in 2024 and have now raised over $850,000 over four years. We hope that you can contribute to our ride for this important and meaningful cause as we reach for that $1MM milestone
Please join us in honoring Patrick, Matt and Catherine.
We are proud supporters of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. Since 2007, 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer.
Raising money for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is the core of the PMC mission. Since 1980, the PMC has contributed $1 Billion, which finances research in its earliest stages. Known as seed money, PMC funds enable clinicians and scientists to pursue innovative research that has the potential to achieve the results that will warrant National Institutes of Health (NIH), or other private and government grants. In so many cases, this early support has fostered the development of some of the most important advances made in cancer research.
