Riding for Hope
I am riding in memory of Jessica Rose Doktor. Jessie was treated at The Jimmy Fund Clinic through all diagnose(s) of leukemia (she had it 3 times). In October 2007, at the age of 9, she succumbed to the treatment for her leukemia and did not survive.
Sarah and her dad have participated in the PMC for over 10 years. This is my first year riding! I am riding with Chris Doktor (my father-in-law), in memory of Jessie.
Keeping Jessie Alive
Dana Farber kept Jessie's cancer at bay for six years, giving her the gift of six years of life. With new research and clinical trials, different sources of hope have emerged since her original 2001 diagnosis. We continue our fund to carry on her legacy - the BRIGHT HAPPY POWER Fund.
Creating Hope
Dana Farber continues to create hope for patients and their families through clinical research trials and research. In our lifetime Dana Farber has achieved a striking success rate for children with acute leukemias, as well as other cancers, diagnoses, and age groups. They continue to set standards for the successful treatment in the oncology world.
Funding the Hope
Every year the financial burden of discovery and research for treating and beating childhood cancers has fallen more heavily on private institutions, such as Dana Farber's Jimmy Fund. Support us in whatever measure you're able to do so. Your help is quantifiable; it has helped Dana Farber's Jimmy Fund to keep Jessie alive for six years. They continue to help so many lives and families still today, and give hope to families who have nowhere else to turn.
