Last year was my first PMC ride and it was AWESOME!
Even though we battled ferocious rain on Sat and high heat and humidity on Sunday…..it didn’t matter. What mattered was the reason I was riding. Raising money to find a CURE for this crap disease.
2 things that encapsulated the weekend for me are below.
- Seeing people standing out in the pouring rain holding signs that said “YOU are the reason I am standing here. YOU saved my life”
- Seeing poster size pictures of children who are fighting NOW along the route hoping for a cure.
As I ride this year, I look forward to waving to all the cancer survivors and their families as they cheer us on. I am privileged to be a part of this. I am lucky enough to be able to ride. To be sore. To train. To raise money. Some people like my sister Lynne, my Dad, Phil’s Dad who have passed away from this disease can't ride. And my sister-in-law Michelle, who is currently fighting cancer is unable to ride. I do this ride in memory of those in heaven and for everyone who is battling and fighting NOW. Let’s kick this disease. Too many beautiful lives have been lost. Thank you in advance for any money you would like to donate to this cause.
100% of your donation will go directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure. My goal is to raise $5,000.00. Donations are tax deductible and may be made online at:
