Thank you for visiting my fundraising page and for being the wind at my back! Your support is invaluable, providing the necessary resources to help find a cure for and treat cancer.
Ten years ago, I cheered on a friend who was fundraising for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and participating in the PMC event. Inspired by their dedication, I decided to join the cause. That fall, I bought a bike, gathered the necessary gear, and began training the following spring. Nine years later, I’ve raised nearly $86,000 for Dana-Farber, thanks to the incredible support from people like you. It truly takes a village—thank you for being part of mine!
I ride in honor and memory of many loved ones:
- My husband Matt: Diagnosed with melanoma (x2) after routine skin checks, but fully recovered thanks to swift action by his dermatologist.
- Friend Karen: Diagnosed with colorectal cancer and fighting every day.
- Elementary school friend Jimmy: The first person I knew with a cancer diagnosis, passed away over 35 years ago but never forgotten.
- Grandfather David: Early detection and treatment of prostate cancer allowed him to enjoy his final years in good health.
- Teammate Joe: A fellow Babson grad battling prostate cancer, who still rides for the cause.
- Friend Michael: Diagnosed with prostate cancer during an annual physical, now in the clear.
- High school classmate Nicole: Battled colorectal cancer with radiation, chemo, and surgeries, now in remission.
- Friend and spin instructor Joe: Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in late September 2017, passed away in early November.
- Friend Mike: Fought breast cancer for 6.5 years, leaving behind his wife and two sons.
- Friend Nancy: Battled breast cancer with grace and dignity, now in remission.
- Friend & former colleague Audrey: Battling lymphoma, living with daily pain.
- Friend Marci: Fought breast cancer long before I knew her, grateful to call her a friend today.
- Friend’s mom Lois: Lived with lung cancer for several years before complications took her too soon.
- Friend’s dad Wayne: Battled gastric cancer for years, passed away in early 2023.
- Team namesake Perry: Briefly battled gastric cancer, inspiring my friend Melissa to ride for him and the cause. We ride for Perry and many others.
In 2025, I am committed to raising $14,000 for those I love, those still fighting, and those we have lost by riding 85 miles in one day. 100% of the fundraising dollars will benefit Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Thank you in advance for your support!
XO,
Kim
P.S. Every year, I carry a hanky with donor names and the names of loved ones during the ride. If you would like me to honor someone special, please let me know, and I will include their name on my 2024 hanky.
