I'm proud to be riding in my 8th PMC - an approximately 192 mile bicycle ride over 2 days in August. My experience so far has been nothing short of incredible - from the thousands of riders who participated, to the lined streets of supporters cheering us on (even at 5am!), to the amazing amount of money that has been raised (OVER $1 BILLION!). It is always the most inspiring weekend of the year!
Cancer is something that affects everyone and with your help, we can continue to work towards a cure. In 2021, I lost my future father-in-law to cancer. It felt like he was healthy one day, sick the next and then gone before we even knew what happened. I want to help others avoid this loss, maintain hope, and find a future with remission. It is heartbreaking to see and hear stories of young children having to battle through what would be the toughest fight of anyone's life. Now that I am a father, I cannot imagine going through this and am even more inspired to help. With the money I am raising, 100% of the donated funds will go directly to Dr. Katherine Janeway's precision medicine research and treatment at DFCI for children battling rare tumors. Precision medicine customizes the solution by analyzing the tumor's DNA structure, finding commonalities with other known cancers and then catering the treatment to target the infected areas in an effort to limit the side effects and provide that child with the most normal life through and after the treatment. The success stories are heartwarming and inspiring and having met some of the kids that have been helped through these efforts, these kids are worth every penny (and mile!).
