The Pan Mass Challenge gives us all a chance to stand up to cancer by riding, volunteering and/or donating funds for research and patient care. I come back to you every year because our work is not done. I rode my first PMC in 2009 to honor my mother who is now a 20-year cancer survivor. I continue to ride to support loved ones who are living proof, those undergoing cancer treatment now, and in loving memory of those whose lives were cut short by cancer. Advances in research, diagnosis, and treatment over the past two decades have been resoundingly encouraging. Together we can make a difference. Please join me in supporting Dana Farber's research and patient care...donate today.

With loving support, I take on this challenge to encourage family and friends who are battling cancer. Uncle Richie, Auntie Kathy, Brad Obuchowski & so many others. May they stay strong! Riding and raising money for cancer research is my effort to support my love ones as they face some of their most difficult days. There are others – too many to mention, who have been touched by cancer, who are right at this very moment fighting for their lives.
I ride for those who have kicked cancer's butt! Way to go Thilo Vollrath, Zack Cummings, Eve Stolz, Angela Jarman, Jane Hanson, Cheryl Neale Cuddy, Glenn Cannon, Amy Flavin and many others. Your strength and courage combined with the care and treatment at Dana Farber have been an inspiration to so many of us. I will be thinking of you as I pedal throughout the ride, but really looking to you for strength during the last miles when I will want to give up.
With a heavy hearty I ride in loving memory of Ellen Ahern, Dave Slarve, Terri Mason, Anne Thruelsen, Bob Rocheleau, Joe Pittorino, Rose Roche, Paul Fitzgerald and Allison Fennel Grossman, whose lives were cut short by cancer. Cancer may have worn down their bodies and exhausted their strength, but it couldn’t dim their smiles. Their smiles were fueled by their love for family and friends and their memories will live on forever in our hearts.
This year many things will be different: There will be less riders on the road, cheer squads will be spread out on the side of the road, and there won't be any parties to celebrate the miles behind us.
This year many things will remain the same: Registered riders will commit to their fundraising minimums, 100% of rider funds raised will go directly to Dana Farber, and patients will continue to have access the cancer specialists dedicated to discoveries in cancer research and delivering compassionate, patient centered care.
