SUNRISE!

Dear Friends:

“Palliative Intent” – these words made me swallow hard when I signed up for a clinical trial to treat my recurrent angiosarcoma in the face almost 5 years ago. In oncology, “palliative” for the longest time meant “incurable” and “let’s try to prolong your life”. It felt like my life was at its SUNSET!

But this trial, available only at Dana-Farber, combined immunotherapy and chemotherapy that caused the cancer cells to completely go away. And they have not come back since!

I am excited to ride in the 2025 Pan Mass Challenge from Sturbridge to Provincetown on August 2 and 3. Helle and I will join more than 6,000 riders to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. I am so grateful that I am healthy, strong, and ready for the upcoming weekend.

My goal this year is to raise $10,000 for sarcoma research and patient care at Dana-Farber. Please donate to my PMC ride at http://profile.pmc.org/GW0027. Your donation is tax-deductible.
