Why I Ride ...
Cancer is an illness that touches the lives of everybody. In this very strange year it is as important as ever to remember it has not gone away. It is for this reason that I continue to ride in the PMC in order to raise money for cancer research and patient care at the world renowned Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This year there wil be a virtual PMC ride and I have committed to ride 2,020 miles before the end of August. The most I have ever rode in a year is 1,500 so this is a big challenge for me. 100% of the money raised supports cancer research and care at the world-renowned Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
This year is the 21st anniversary of my Fiona's diagnosis with medulloblastoma (brain cancer). Today she is a healthy 23 working with Partners in Health.
I am writing to solicit your generosity with a donation so we can get a step closer to defeating this horrible disease. Once again, as I participate in my 19th PMC my goal is to exceed $9,000 to support the advancement of cancer research. As I ride , I will remember your donations and all those that you and I have lost to this horrible disease. If you sponsored my ride last year, again, thank you very much and I hope that you are able to contribute again this year. If this is your first time, thank you in advance for choosing to join the fight as we get Closer by the Mile!
Your tax-deductible donation (Tax ID: 04-2746912) can be made out to the PMC/Jimmy Fund. I will be happy to pick up contributions or you can mail them to me at 9 Lilac Circle, Wellesley, MA 02482 or on-line by visiting my profile page at www.pmc.org, click on PMC profiles in the left column and enter GM0057 in the eGift ID field to connect to my profile page. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you sincerely for your help and generosity,
Ger
