On September 28th; I will particpate in my 12th Pan-Mass Challenge (and my first PMC-unpaved!) As always I ride in loving memory of my father, Stephen Greene, who lost is battle with cancer at the young age 34 in August of 1999.
When I first began riding the PMC, I was 16 years old. At that time, I rode beside my mother, Susan, and could count the amount of people I knew who's lives had been affected by cancer on one hand. Now at age 28, I ride alongside friends, all who been affected by cancer in some way, and many who have lost siblings, parents and grandparents far too soon.
This year, my ride is deeply motivated by grandmother, Jane Tegan, who was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in November of 2021. My grandmother's resillence, paired with the care she has recieved from Dana Farber and their amazing advancments in breast cancer treatment over the last decade is allowing her to carry on with her normal life. Her diagnoses has not slowed her down or taken away her zest for life or sense of humor.
Thank you to my donors for your annual support to a cause that I hold so close to my heart.
