A Milestone Year
July 2024
This summer marks the 21st year of Team Hannah Bandanas and my 19th year riding the Pan Mass Challenge. Many of you may know that I retired in January of this year, and now when I look back over my adult life I have the mind space to see a broader view. My efforts raising money for Dana Farber for these 19 years are one of the most important parts of my adult life. I’m so grateful Leslie survived her breast cancer diagnosis 19 years ago, and it has been a privilege to ride each year to repay a small percent of what Dana Farber has done for her – and for our family by extension. And if we stay on pace to prior years, we will cross a quarter million dollars raised for Dana Farber in these 19 years –thanks to all of you and your generosity.
On the cancer front, I’m happy to say that as of this writing, Leslie continues to be doing well, and several friends with recent cancer diagnoses are also moving on and living their “new normal” lives.
As ever, we are grateful for all the researchers and care providers at Dana Farber and everywhere else for their hard work to care for those affected and to work towards a cure. We are also deeply grateful for all of you for your loyal support of our fundraising efforts year after year, and if your circumstances allow you to contribute again this year, we’d be very grateful.
