I am riding in the Pan Mass Challenge this year in memory of my dad, Chet Curtis, who died in January of Pancreatic Cancer. My dad bravely fought the disease for over 14 months and was treated at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA where he received exceptional care. The doctors, nurses and staff at Dana Farber formed a team that helped my dad fight hard for over a year. They helped him fight to be at my wedding last June so that he could give me away. Without this team and without my dad's strength that would not have been possible. It was the greatest gift my dad every gave me. The loss I've felt since my dad died is the greatest I've ever known. I'm riding because I want there to be a cure for cancer someday so that other families don't ever have to feel this sense of loss and sadness. This will be a challenging ride for me but it is nothing compared to what my dad had to endure for 14 months. He showed me strength and courage and I'm riding for him. I would be honored if you would help me reach my fundraising goal so that we can all continue to try to find a cure for cancer. I know my dad would too.
