This year I will be riding in my 5th Pan Mass Challenge. I am always so grateful to ride in this event. It started as a way for my family and I to remember my Grandmother, Ethel. Now this ride is a part of our lives. Both of my aunt's have volunteered for the last 14 years. My gram was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2005, which metastisized to the brain. She was incredibly strong, fearless, and positive.  Her heart and hugs were bigger than life. She will forever be in my heart and my nursing. She is the reason I became an Oncology nurse. My journey has brought me to Dana Farber. I have met so many people affected by cancer as an oncology nurse the past 12 years. This ride supports Dana Farber research tremendously each year. I now get to see how it directly affects my patients. Our research and protocols dramatically change lives and patient outcomes. This year I am excited to join team FLAMES! 100% of our proceeds will go directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma department. Our team is made up of survivors, doctors, and nurses. FLAMES has raised $6 million dollars over the past 40 years!!
