Update 2012 -
Hello Friends and Family -
I am busy training again for the inspiration that is the Pan
Mass Challenge. The success of the ride has led to funding to support new
discoveries, new drugs, new cures and also to care for those already stricken
with cancer. The last year 2 years I rode the 192 mile 2-day Pass Mass
Challenge to honor my brother-in-law Alan Rimm-Kaufman and to honor the Farber,
the institution that kept him alive for 9 extra years. This year
will not be different, but there will also be other friends and family that
will be close in mind and spirit. I would
be honored to carry the names and thoughts of your loved ones with me on the
ride.
I continue to sponsor the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute by
riding and by sponsoring others who ride with me in the Pan Mass
Challenge. A friend of mine started a team of riders several
years ago after his son passed away from a brain tumor. His Kermit
team has helped to inspire us all (not to mention has been instrumental in
getting me on the road). This year I will again ride with team
Kermit. We will start the day before the
official ride on Friday August 3rd and ride an extra 72 miles out to the start
in Sturbridge MA and then take the 192 mile ride back to Provincetown
on Cape Cod August 4-5th.
To be part
of this ride, I need to raise a minimum of $4300 for the Dana Farber
Cancer Institute. Like almost no other fundraiser of this size 100%
of donated funds go to cancer research and patient care so that the
next “Alan” can be cured or at least live a much longer life. Please help
me reach this goal.
Once again to encourage everybody to donate before I ride, Allison
and I will match 50% match of all donations after the total hits $4,000 (up to
my goal of $6000).
Thank you.
With love,
Eric
