I rode my first PMC in 2008 and it was an amazing experience that I felt fortunate to do for 3 more years after that. I am so happy to be returning this year. On August 8th I will be riding in a Reimagined Ride with Dru Tarr as part of Team Always Moving Forward (AMF). AMF stand for Ann Margaret Ferrante, my Massachusetts State Represetative and my friend. Ann Margaret has been a huge supporter of The First R Foundation, a reading foundation that I am proud to be a part of. And we are both strong daughters who help take care of our strong mothers. Our ride will be a 50-mile route around Ann Margaret's district covering Gloucester, Rockport, Manchester, Essex, Ipswich. Every dollar raised goes directly to Dana Farber. Every dollar helps. If all my friends and family contributed $10, I would reach my goal. As I prepare for this ride, I have learned that another friend has been diagnosed with cancer and is in the treatment discussion phase at Dana Farber. We talked about what an incredible facility it is and how the treatment “team” supports every person who walks through the door with care and thoughtfulness. And how each person going through treatment is recognized as unique and their treatment will be developed for the individual based on years of research and experience. Cancer doesn't go into lockdown. It doesn't discriminate - it takes and it takes. Thank you Here's how you can help. 1) Donate to my page Go to my page and donate with a credit card: http://www.pmc.org/egifts/CB0205 2) Send a check made payable to PMC or The Jimmy Fund and send it to me at 74 Langsford Street, Gloucester, MA, 01930
Due to work, weather and other things in life, I haven’t given myself the right amount of time to train for this. But I reflected that when cancer strikes, the individual doesn’t get to train or prepare for it - they just go. So that’s what I’m going to do on August 8th. Thank you for reading and donating. See you on the other side!
