This is my tenth PMC. I remain indebted to my Lehigh LXA brothers who with one email create a funding match annually.

I'm a member Team 9, so I will be riding in honor of a "pedal partner." A "pedal parter" is a child who is fighting cancer who is "adopted" by the various PMC teams. It's still early in the year, so I don't know who our pedal partner is yet, but I'm sure that I will be floored by the grace and courage of this child and his or her family.

Just for good measure, here's a couple other reasons I do this ride:

** Cancer makes me angry. I just know too many folks who have fought or who are fighting this thing. Being part of the effort to respond on a massive scale seems like a productive way to put that anger to use. (The PMC raised $46M last year. I'm sure it higher this year.)

** The volunteers who make the ride possible are simply the best people.

** I'm humbled, frequently to the point of tears, by all the folks who come to the roadside to encourage the riders.
