After participating in the PMC for the past 14 years in many different roles - as a rider, fundraiser, cheerleader, beer wench, coordinator - this year I have committed to ride the 1-day 82 mile route from Bourne, MA to Provincetown, MA and to raise $5,000 for the PMC!
Everyone who commits to the PMC is inspired for their own reasons. My inspiration comes from friends and family who have battled cancer, and the family members who courageously stand alongside those fighting the disease. I am inspired by those who ride in the PMC despite personal challenges and those who selflessly dedicate hours of time toward the PMC cause.
This year, I am dedicating my ride in memory of my dear friend, Donna Turner, who lost the battle to melanoma last May. Every turn of the pedal, and every dollar I raise, will remind me of Donna and how important it is to keep fighting the fight against the horrible disease that took her away from me and all who loved her.
I have committed to raise of minimum of $5,000 for the 2019 PMC. I know I can't do it alone. I'll need support from my friends, neighbors, and family members to help me succeed in my commitment to the PMC.
100% of all funds raised for the PMC benefit the Jimmy Fund and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute!
Supporting the PMC is a small thing I can do when compared to the courageous challenges of battling cancer, but cumulatively the PMC is a BIG thing and it's IMPORTANT too.
