Why I Ride ...
As we get closer to summer, the bike gets dusted off and it is time to start training for the PMC. Last year was supposed to be different. It is now looking like every year is going to be different. One thing that is not different is the news about multiple friends and acquaintances dealing with cancer. What is different, is that with each year, we continue to make progress towards finding treatment and hope for cancer patients. The good news is they have a reason to be hopeful for a positive outcome.
This year I have committed to raising $4,000.00 for cancer research by riding in the 2021 Pan-Mass Challenge. On the first weekend in August, I will join thousands of cyclists in the PMC, an annual bike-a-thon that raises money for research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) in Boston.
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's ultimate goal is the eradication of cancer. The PMC’s hope and aspiration is to provide Dana-Farber's doctors and researchers with the necessary resources to discover cures for all cancers. Over the last 42 years, the PMC community has provided critical funding to fuel Dana-Farber's mission. So with every pedal stroke we take, we are defying cancer, because 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar goes to Dana-Farber.
Thank you for your support and encouragement.
