Why I Ride ...
I was encouraged to ride in the PMC in 2003 by Scott Harris--after a few years of AIDSrides--who said, 100% of the funds are donated.
At the time, I was aware of cancer but no first hand experience. Over the last 20 years that has changed dramatically for me and probably for all of us.
In 2009 my middle sister Pam was diagnosed and battled Stage 4 cancer; it was heart-wrenching to watch and she's a fighter. This was not my best training year and thoughts of her helped me push the pedals over each hill. As they say, There were memories coming out of my eyes. Today she's blessed as a Survivor.
I once pedaled by a sign that is bookmarked in my mind, Ride for those who will ride again.
Make your donation and let me to train and pedal in honor of your loved one. Help us find a cure for cancer in our lifetime. Thank you for being one in a billion!
