PMC 2024 - I hope I can count on your support.
It is July and the fragrance of Summersweet fills the air. This small shrub is always in full bloom for PMC weekend, and it is a reminder that we are fast approaching our cancer research fundraising deadline!
I can hardly believe that this year I will participate in my 20th PMC ride. Stephen and I will be doing the traditional 2-day, 161-mile route from Wellesley to Ptown on August 3-4 and have committed to raising $6,000 each for Dana Farber Cancer Institute. This year, I am thrilled to share that for the first time my parents and sisters will all be together to cheer us into the finish in Provincetown. I’m certain it will be emotional, and I expect to see the finish through a blur of tears.
As you may know, my sisters and I were only little girls when we lost our mother, Mary Murphy Walsh, to brain cancer. Our memories of her and her cancer battle are shattered, like shards of a mirror. Riding in the PMC is our small way to have an impact, honor her memory, and support the doctors and researchers that are there for every cancer patient.
With that in mind, I am making a personal appeal to you to sponsor my PMC 2024 ride once again. Together – as a group of cyclists and sponsors – we have accelerated the course of cancer research and treatment. It is important to note that the PMC will pass through 100% of all rider donations received to DFCI. Thank you for considering supporting my ride one more time. I couldn’t do this without you.
With gratitude, Terri
