Thank you for your support of my twenty-fifth Pan Mass Challenge!
In the twenty plus years that you have been supporting my ride to fund research at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, cancer scientists have driven down the mortality of many types of cancer. Margaret and I have many friends who have beaten the scourge of cancer or who are fighting it right now, and your support is one of the things that makes this possible.
Still, much remains to be done, and we mourn the loss of those who have been taken by this terrible disease.
I ride each year for members of my family and friends who have been affected by cancer. If you would like to donate to help end the scourge of cancer, you can do so here.
This year, I also ride for my friend Mike Aranow. 41 years ago, Mike and I biked across the United States with 63 others, covering 4464 miles in 57 days and raising over $250,000 for Oxfam America. Mike passed away suddenly this March, and I am dedicating my ride to Mike. That ride with Mike and Cyclists Fighting Hunger is the inspiration that got me riding the Pan Mass Challenge since 2001. This one's for Mike.
This year's ride is special for another reason. For the second year in a row, our son Ryan is joining me for the Pan Mass Challenge ride. It is inspiring to ride with our son, and I am so proud of him for carring on the tradition of working hard for a cancer cure.
100% of your donations go directly to cancer research.
Thanks.
