Cancer Sux. I'm helping, and we need your help, too. I like Bikes, especially riding bikes with friends. Cycling is healing and restorative. Dana Farber is healing and restorative. So this makes a lot of sense.
I'm working on being more selfless. All the mountain climbs and all the miles and all the events and all the smiles and miles and all the wrenching on my bikes up until this point have been for.... me.
And in August, all of it will be for Charlie, Charlotte, Colleen, Freddie, James J, Mike, DJ, Bridget, David, Christy, and millions of other survivors and victims. They're my niece, mother in law, aunt, pedal partner, grandpa, cousin, and friends. And they're yours too - Cancer is the big thing. I am a supporter of going for outsized impact and working on the big problems to get big results. I need big help - we're in this one together.
I can't think of a better way to do it than through PMC and my (utterly amazing) team, the Domestiques. Domestiques are the cyclists on teams who shield from headwinds, get water bottles, give up their bikes, give away their food and otherwise do whatever it takes in service of others. They save other people time and energy, they help them win. That's what Justin and my teammates and all of my loved ones past and present with cancer are spurring me to do. I'll see you on the road. I appreciate your tailwind to help me get there. And I'll do as much pulling as I can.
