Why I Ride ... #1nickstrong18
On August 3rd, 2024 I will be riding my 3rd Pan-Mass Challenge. I am riding in memory of my son Nick.
In May of 2021 Nick was diagnosed with a brain tumor. After months of chemo, we were told that Nick would have to undergo a risky brain surgery in attempt to remove the tumor. His surgeon was successful in removing all of Nick's tumor. Nick went on to complete chemo and radiation. About 2 months later, Nick's scans showed that there were more tumors in his spine and brain. Nick is currently going through chemo and will have a stem cell transplant. Nick inspires me to be better. He never complains and continues to have a positive attitude. The strength he has shown is remarkable for a 15-year-old. He was able to complete his freshman year of high school and continue to practice basketball and lacrosse which are two sports he is passionate about. During his appointments at the Jimmy Fund, we walk over the PMC bridge and Nick challenged me to ride in the Pan Mass. I told him if he can go through this, I can ride to raise money for him and everyone else going through cancer.
Nick passed away on May 19th, 2023. Our promise to Nick was we will continue to help others going through pediatric cancer. We have created the Nick Strong Foundation which is a 501(c)(3) charity organization to help pediatric research and other families going through pediatric cancer. I will also be riding in memory of my grandfather and two uncles.

Please consider making a donation to raise money for this great cause and kick cancers a**.
Thank you to the Franklin Team allowing me to join them on this ride for the 3rd year .
Love you Nick
