On August 2, 2025, I’ll be riding in memory of Nick, who inspired me every single day with his strength, resilience, and positivity.
Nick was diagnosed with a brain tumor at age 14. He bravely endured chemotherapy, radiation, and a risky brain surgery that successfully removed the tumor. Just months later, new tumors were found in his spine and brain. Nick faced more treatment including chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant without ever complaining. He continued school, practiced basketball and lacrosse, and lived each day with courage.
During one of his appointments at the Jimmy Fund, we walked over the PMC bridge, and Nick challenged me to ride. I told him: If you can fight this, I can ride for you—and for everyone else facing cancer.
Nick passed away on May 19, 2023. He was just 16. In his honor, we created the Nick Strong Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting pediatric cancer research and helping families going through similar battles. Learn more at www.nickstrongfoundation.com.
This ride is also in memory of my grandfather, father-in-law and two uncles, all of whom we’ve lost to cancer.
Please consider donating—every dollar brings us closer to better treatments, better outcomes, and one day, a cure. Let's kick cancers ass.
Thank you to the Franklin PMC Team allowing me to join them on this ride for the 4th year.
Love you, Nick. Forever 16.
