Well, the summer heat is upon us, and that means the Pan Mass Challenge (PMC) is just around the corner.
The thing is, like everyone else, Coronavirus has hit the Pan-Mass Challenge hard. There won't be the epic 192 mile ride with thousands of riders and countless volunteers.
There won't be the cheering crowds, people handing out water, shouting “Thanks for riding!”; streets lined with signs, such as the poster-sized picture of a small boy, grinning ear-to-ear, captioned, “Thanks to you I'm 12 years old now!”
Even in the face of this pandemic, CANCER HASN’T STOPPED!
So, 18 PMCs and over 3,500 miles later, I am still training, and I will be riding my own PMC in honor of all those close to me who are fighting, or have lost the battle to, CANCER.
The PMC has raised $767 million for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute since its launch in 1980. Today, the PMC is the single largest contributor to Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund and is responsible for 64 percent of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue. Which goes directly to fund critical and life-saving advances in cancer research and patient care.
100% of every rider-raised dollar funds cancer research at Dana Farber…life-saving research!
So , if you can, and only if you can, I would really love your support for all the cancer victims, patients and survivors, young and old…family, friends, colleagues…and for myself and my belief that with determination and funding all cancers WILL BE defeated.
I ride for each of YOU and your families and friends!
