I
am excited to be riding my first Pan Mass this summer with Team
Brentwheels! Dana and Mike
McCreesh started TeamBrent in 2004, after their then two-year-old son Brent was
diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma.
Brent has been cancer free since 2005 and is now living the normal life
of an eight year old.
I
first met the McCreesh family two summers ago, when I was a camp counselor for
their youngest daughter, Kira. I
was shocked when I found out that Brent was a cancer survivor, and I was truly
inspired when I learned about TeamBrent and all the McCreeshes have done. This past fall I spent my Wednesday
afternoons babysitting the McCreesh kids: taking Brent and his sisters to
practices and play dates and playing endless games of Uno with them each week. As I learned about what they went through
when Brent was sick, I knew that I wanted to do something more to help. Every
cent of PMC donations go to Dana-Farber; however, the funds donated to Team
Brentwheels will go directly towards fighting neuroblastoma, the cancer Brent
had, at Dana- Farber. I’m excited to be riding the Pan Mass with Team
Brentwheels, and I hope that you will donate to my ride so that no more
families have to go through what the McCreeshes did.
