Why I Ride ...
Welcome to the story page for Team Carie's Crew.
We ride to celebrate Carie's now 16 year survivorship anniversary as well as to honor Jesse's Mom, who passed away from breast cancer, and Rob's grandmother who died from breast cancer. Carie was diagnosed with breast cancer at 33 when Brennan was 3 1/2 and Sari was1 1/2. At that time, Paige moved from NYC to help take care of Carie's children while she underwent treatment. It is during that time that Paige and Jesse met.
Today Carie thrives and tackles the Pan Mass Challenge each year with us all. Notably, Carie has made a point of generously giving back to young women with breast cancer. She helped to create the Program for Young Woman with Breast Cancer at Dana Farber, an innovative and important program that is attempting to pioneer an entirely new approach to DFCI supporting and treating young woman.
Thank you for your support, and for helping us make the treatment available to young women with breast cancer better tomorrow.
