On August 3rd I will be biking 84 miles in the Pan Mass Challenge in honor of my cousin, Morgan Decter. Two years ago, Morgan was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, and fought tirelessly againest it. She has been a true inspiration to not only me, but to thousands of others who supported her throughout her battle. She is a warrior, and it is an honor to bike with her in mind.
My mom, Melissa Smith, participated in the PMC for consecutive years and inspired me to join her last year. While I biked 25 miles, she completed her second 50 mile endeavor. She has worked for Dana Farber my entire life, and I have watched her support and treat patients with every ounce of courage and love inside of her heart. The Dana Farber Cancer Insitiue has supported so many patients and families around the world, and watching my moms hard work has inclined me to help raise funding for this incredible place, internationally known for its research and clinical excellence.
I've made a personal commitment to ride PMC 2024 and raise $6,000.00. Please consider donating to help me achieve this significant goal. I am biking with Team Kermit, led by Steven Branfman. 100 percent of your donation supports the Jared Branfman Sunflowers for Life Fund, currently working to treat and cure childhood spinal and brain cancer.
My heart goes out to those and the loved ones of those fighting against cancer.
With deep appreciation and gratitude,
Sadie Smith
