Dear friends and colleagues:
I’m riding in the Pan-Mass Challenge again to raise funds for cancer research and care. And that means I’m asking for your support again.
I’ve been honored to ride for 28(!) years for an ever-growing number of relatives, friends and colleagues who have been touched by cancer. Think for a moment of the people you know who have been affected by this terrible disease.
Unfortunately, just when it’s needed the most, federal government is slashing its foundational support for cancer discovery and care, a cruel mistake from which it may take many years to recover. However, the good news is that cancer research has been advancing at an accelerating rate, and supporting the PMC is one the most important things you can do to help.
The best part is that it’s one of the most efficient events of its kind anywhere. Thanks to a wide variety of sponsors, volunteers and donations, a full 100 percent of rider-raised funds support truly effective cancer research and care at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (and all gifts are tax deductible). Fundraising doesn’t get any better than that, and you can be assured that your gifts will have the most impact possible.
I have a goal of raising over $10,000 this year, and I hope you can help (click here!).
None of us are getting any younger, and riding in the Pan-Mass Challenge isn’t getting any easier. Neither is asking friends for money, but the alternative is a lot worse. So, thank you in advance for your help and support. It makes a very real difference to a lot of people.
Steve
