Dear Family and Friends, It is hard to believe that four years have passed since we lost Howie to advanced Prostate Cancer. We remember his passionate support of the PMC and Dana Farber Cancer Institute which resulted in his raising $300,000. In addition, he was instrumental in the creation of the Gray Spore in Prostate Cancer Fund. The money raised supports Dr. Himisha Beltran and her team’s research. This research focuses on lab studies and clinical trials that aim to overcome treatment resistance and to develop targeted therapies for men with advanced Prostate Cancer. I have made a commitment again to continue to support this fund in Howie's memory as a virtual rider and fundraiser. This year I will be volunteering at Babson College in Wellesley on PMC weekend, August 2-3- selling PMC merchandise! :) My goal is to continue to support the Gray Spore in Prostate Cancer Fund by raising $30,000. I hope I can count on your support! The PMC raises more money for charity than any other single event in the country. In 2024, PMC riders raised $75 million, bringing the total contributions to the fight against cancer to more than $ 1 billion since 1980! We could not have reached this incredible milestone without your support! This year, Dana Farber needs our support more than ever! Facing up to 50% NIH funding cuts, DFC Institute’s ability to develop cancer breakthroughs would be significantly impacted thus negatively impacting its patients. Therefore, for 2025, the Pan-Mass Challenge announced a record $76 million fundraising goal. The PMC donates 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to fund lifesaving cancer research, treatment, and patient care, and is the Institute’s single largest contributor, representing 66 percent of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue. Here’s another reason to support my PMC fundraising: With a donation of $50 or more, you can save on any new or existing Massachusetts MAPFRE Insurance auto policy. Once you donate, just forward your receipt to your insurance provider. Every donation brings us closer by the mile. With much gratitude, Susan Please donate to my fundraising via the PMC website or by clicking one of these links: |
PMC donations are tax deductible and 100% will go to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The PMC's tax ID / EIN is 04-2746912.
