Hello friends and colleagues,

The first weekend in August each year is always very meaningful for me because it’s PMC weekend – and that means 6000+ riders and volunteers cycling hundreds of miles each and raising millions of dollars to fund lifesaving cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

This will be Year 15 for me and I’m as excited as ever! I am riding with Team Fidelity & Friends - we re now in our 20th year with 55 riders and growing! And my daughters Carrie & Katie will be riding with me so it will be a real family affair.

Every one of us has seen the loss of a loved one or a close friend or colleague to cancer. In my family’s case, both Mary and I lost one of our parents to the disease and there was nothing we could do to stop it. But we were also able to see firsthand what a wonderful organization Dana-Farber is and the incredible level of care that they provide for every patient. We are very proud to be two of their many supporters. The Fidelity Team is also riding again for our Pedal Partner, Willa Mooney - an energetic and courageous young 11 year-old who has been battling a brain tumor since she was 6. She is an amazing example positive spirit and perseverance.

My personal goal this year is to raise at least $20,000 towards this cause and I am asking for your help in achieving this goal.

That being said my message to you this year is the same as always - most of you support many causes and you have been very generous to my rides in the past. Together we have raised over $275,000 over the last 14 years. If you are not able to support my ride financially this year, your best wishes are most welcome!

For those of you making a donation through the Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund, there is an option on the PMC donations page to fund through your DAF.

If you prefer to write a check, please make it out to the PMC, The Jimmy Fund or Dana Farber Cancer Institute and mail them to me at 4 Farm Lane, Sudbury, MA 01776. I have until October 1 to complete my fundraising efforts.
