Why I Ride ...my friend Lynn
I am riding in honor of my friend Lynn Seaquist Hart with Liz Dunleavy, the friend who introduced me to Lynn back in the mid 90s. We are Team Lynn Love. Our beautiful friend lost a ferocious 2-year battle with ovarian cancer in early December. I told Lynn in the Fall of 2023 I was going to do the Pan Mass Challenge and she very much wanted to do it with me! Lynn was a natural athlete with incredible ability. She loved the outdoors - cycling, ocean swimming, windsurfing, walking - you name it. And she was a world traveller. We had many great adventures together. These activities and the personal connections they enabled, were her passion. And boy, did she have a zest for life! But above it all was her love for her friends and her amazing husband and two teenage boys. By riding - with your support - I want to honor Lynn and thank her for the joy she brought to so many. I know she'd be proud, and if she were riding too, she'd kick my ass! To Lynn!!
I'm a proud supporter of the PMC and Dana Farber where Lynn received some of her treatment because it is leading the charge to beat cancer and 100% of rider-raised revenue goes directly to support the Jimmy Fund and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's commitment to finding a cure. They just hit $1 billion raised and are going for $75 million in 2024!
