As you know, the PMC has been such an important part of my life for more than 17 years. I want to say a huge THANK YOU for the generous support you have shown me these many PMC years. I've asked, you've answered.
Over the last couple of years, I have transitioned my long-standing role with the PMC as a two-day, 200-mile rider to what's called a Reimagined Rider. No big 200-mile ride, but meaningful miles of my choice. It's a way for me to feel connected to the PMC, a big part of who I am, and to feel like I'm helping others even when things feel helpless.
Most of you know that my dear sister-in-law Laura Yarvis, whom I affectionately call Warrior Princess, has a rare form of Invasive Squamous Cell Carcinoma, caused by 30 years of aggressive Crohn's disease medications. After more than 5 surgeries and two rounds of radiation (35x/each), Laura is still fighting, and this time, I think cancer has met is f-ing match. I honestly don't know how she does, but she just does.
So I'm back on the bike once again. As I did last year, this year I will be doing a reimagined ride in early August dedicating every mile to our dear Laura.
Please join me in proudly honoring Laura, as well as Cindy, Mom, Bob, Varton, Carlene, Tracey, Jessica, Mary, Gail, Beth, Linda, Patti, Lisa, John, Bob, Craig, Mahri, Paul, Mark, and of course Dmitri. 100% of every rider raised dollar goes directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
