Why I Ride .
Dear Friends and Family,
This week I started my training for this years PMC, my eighth year riding and 6th year with Team Kermit. I am dedicating this ride not only to Team Kermit and young Declan, but in honor of one of my fellow ski patrollers at Mount Snow in Vermont. JC, John Clark was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer and just started his treatments at a local hospital. He has been traveling into Boston for testing, treatment management and other modalities at the Dana Faber Cancer Institute. Dana Faber is on a mission to defeat cancer with many specialists and researchers but you also get a specialist in your particular type of cancer. JC is seeing specialists that only deal with prostate cancer. JC will be receiving various treatments with medications and radiation therapy. For this reason I will ride in August, with Team Kermit, over 250 miles in three days, one mile at a time. We are looking for a cure and recent advances have shown us that our mission is getting closer and closer to that end point where we will find it. Our Fund has been instrumental in spearheading a research program focused on FGFR mutations in childhood brain tumors which cause cells to grow abnormally. This is the second most common mutation in pediatric low-grade gliomas, and also occur in other brain tumors including DIPGs and high-grade gliomas. The Dana Farber Cancer Institute is singular in that there is equal staffing, funding and research provided to both the adult and pediatric wings of the hospital. This often results in discoveries made by either division which will then benefit the other. With your devoted support, together we can continue to make these, and so many more vital and timely contributions happen within the pediatric cancer community. Please reach into your hearts and support our efforts for the pediatric and adult cancer community. Every dollar counts.Click on this link to make a safe and secure donation online:

So until we no longer have to, please join us as we work tirelessly together to find that cure. And?please do one more thing, Remember all those that have departed and those currently going through therapy. Thank you all in advance for your donations. I will be riding for three days on the first weekend of August covering over 250 miles Riding closer to a cure mile by mile. Steve
