Fran and I are embarking on our 5th
Pan Mass Challenge which coincides with Fran’s 5th year of being
cancer free. A huge milestone!
As I sit here contemplating how far we
have come with increasing cancer survivals and how far we have to go, I think
about those that have been recently diagnosed, those that have fought hard to
rid themselves of this disease, and those that we have lost to cancer.
This year alone I have lost 3 relatives to cancer.
Fran and I have been challenged with our training due to weather,
injury, illness, work, …, but are hoping that we can get our ##ing (I can’t
even write the word) bodies into shape to endure the two-day challenge
beginning August 3rd.
We all hate cancer and just want it to go away. Easier said than
done.
So many of you have been very supportive of the PMC and YOU are
making a difference. 100 percent
of all funds raised for our ride, will go directly to Dana Farber and the Jimmy
Fund.
Once again, I’m asking for your support to
help make our world a cancer-free place. The PMC raises more money for charity than any other
single event in the country, $375 million since 1980 and $37 million last year
alone! This success is the result of a lot of people riding for, and
caring about, a cure for cancer. I've made a personal commitment to raise
$4,300.
