Why I Ride ...
Dear Family and Friends.
I’m in my tenth-year volunteeriing to support the Dana Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI), also known as the Jimmy Fund or Pan Mass Challenge (PMC). I am participating in the Pan Mass Bike Challenge (PMC) as a member of Team 3G to bring awareness to cancer Research. I'm committed to raising $4,000 and need your help. Please click on the link below to donate or email me at rareisch@yahoo.com to arrange a check payment option. Cancer is ubiquitous and most of us have been touched by it in one way or another. Ill be riding approximately 90 miles on August 2nd in honor of two sisters and my grandmother who were afflicted with the disease.
Why make a charitable contribution to Dana Farber (DFCI)?
- 100% of all rider-raised funds goes to cancer research and treatment at Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
- In the last five years, Dana Farber Research played a substantial role in developing more than half of all cancer fighting drugs approved by the FDA.
- Pan-Mass Challenge is the third largest peer to peer fundraiser in the country but has the fewest participants amongst the top ten.
- When the PMC started in 1980, there were fewer than five million cancer survivors in the world. Today, there are more than 17 million, a result of the advancements in treatment and research – many of which were developed at Dana-Farber and are made possible by the tremendous efforts of tens of thousands of everyday people who fundraise in events like the PMC each year.
- Dana-Farber has been recogniized as one of the top three cancer centers in te world.
- Our Team 3-G is applying our fundraising funds to Dana Farber's Thoracic Center. This division treats cancers within the chest including lung and mesothelioma.
