In 2024 its back to three OMGPMC (Donnie, Jeff and Ron) and Danielle! We have gone back to a Sturbridge start too! So more miles for the old guys!
Of course riding a bike 200 miles is fun, its all about the fundraising for the cure of Cancer. Each year we ride with the names of our friends and relatives that have battled Cancer. Many have successfully gone on to become Living Proof that modern medicine and intense research can beat Cancer. Others have have succumbed after valiant battles. Once again we will ride with the names of the these heros on our jersey of those that continue to battle, and those that waged a valiant fight but have passed from the desease.
This year my cousin Rich Freedman battled cancer, undergoing treatment for several months, and is now cancer free! My neice Rebecca Khalifa is in a battle right now.
As in the past, we will be directing the funds to benefit research in honor of my life long grade school, high school, and college friend Julie Libon was diagnosed with Myelofibrosis in August of 2014. Julie has connected us with Dr. Ann Mullally, who is a translational cancer researcher in the field of myeloid malignancies, with a focus on myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) at Brigham and Womans Hospital, and is an attending Physician in the Leukemia Program, Medical Oncology, at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. A portion of our fundraising will be directed to Dr. Mullally.
I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure.
Thanks you for your support. Every dollar helps. Thanks Thanks Thanks!!!!
