Please add names to my list so I may take your losses with me on this ride.....
Plain and simple.... I lost my mother Iris Gyles and two brothers Calvin and Robert Hanks to cancer. I also lost my father Clayton Hanks to a brain tumor that was benign. My aunts Peggy Tule and Maida Gyles, my uncles Frank Gyles, Robert Gyles and Charlie Gyles. I have also lost my mother in law Claire Testa and and many family and friends to this terrible death. My daughter has has bouts with it and still is fighting other problems due to it. My sister in law Susan Harding and great nephew Dexter Turner, my cousins Carol Tule and Bob Chaple and some of my best friends.... Normand Gaudet, Charlene Frediani, Lisa Bloom, Tommy Hawkins, Jim Buck and Kevin Sharland are survivors. I have never done this ride but it is time. I have raised money over the years by riding my bike for cancer. I pray that some day... this will end. I will be riding for EVERYONE!! THEY ALL MATTER!!! Please support me in this two day 200 mile ride. Thank you. Please also add the name of a loved one you lost and I will ride with them.
I'm a proud participant in the Pan-Mass Challenge - a bike-a-thon that raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country - to bring us Closer by the Mile to a cure for cancer.
Since its founding in 1980, PMC riders like me have raised more than $1 billion for lifesaving cancer research, treatment and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, one of the country's top cancer care hospitals. My PMC is making a difference in the lives of patients at Dana-Farber and around the world. The funds I raise support the innovative work of doctors, nurses, and scientists in their search for cures for cancers and related diseases.
100 percent of every dollar I raise goes directly to Dana-Farber, meaning that your donation has a real impact! Please donate to my PMC fundraising and help me reach my fundraising goal.
