I am so excited that I will be riding the 192 miles again this year from Sturbridge to P-Town as part of the Pan Mass Challenge, and for the 4th time with Ryan! (I hope he is as happy about that as I am!). It is such a gueling, but meaningful, powerful, and fun weekend to share together!
The PMC funds research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. There are too many of us who have been touched by the horrors of cancer. Cancer has stolen so many lives and fractured way too many families. DFCI helped and guided my family through the most difficult time in our lives during 2007-8. They gave us HOPE while Mike battled bladder cancer, and supported us even after we had lost him.
I am very lucky to have been blessed with great health and I don't take that for granted. I will train to help give HOPE to others so they can hear those beautiful words: NED (No Evidence of Disease), or YOU ARE IN REMISSION, or even better, CURED! I will ride in memory of those we loved and lost way too soon: Mike, Richie, Janet, Kim, Jeff, Gary and Clarke. I will ride in honor of those currently in the fight like Kathi, Mark, Darren and Patty. And I will ride in honor of those we love who have BEAT cancer: Dave, Steve, Bart, Sharon D., Sharon M., Sandra, Irene, Tony, Deb, Phil, Toni, Colleen, Kristan, Karen, Dawn, Diane, and Kris to name a few. (I'm really happy the latter is the longer list!)
Every rider raised dollar for the PMC goes directly to Dana-Farber. If you are able, please help support my ride. And if you'd like me to ride in honor, or in memory of someone, please send me their name. I will place names on my jersey and they will ride with me the entire way. (No promises on how fast we will get there!).
When I'm not training for this epic PMC ride #4, I will continue baking Mrs. Mac's Doggie Snacks to sell at various craft fairs throughout the state. All proceeds from my sales will go to my fundraising commitment. You can find Mrs. Mac's Doggie Snacks on Facebook and Instagram and can place orders by emailing me at: mrsmacsdoggiesnacks@yahoo.com.
I am so honored and grateful to be a part of this PMC team. Thank you so very much!
LET'S DO THIS - LET'S KICK CANCER IN THE BUTT!
