Life or Death. Approximately 40 out of 100 Americans will receive a Cancer Diagnosis in their lifetime. Each & Every One of us benefits directly from Cancer Research, whether at our Basic Wellness Exams focused on prevention, detection & good health promotion or if a need arises for additional screening. Cancer Research plays a role in the quality of all of our health & our longevity, it is far reaching.

The Pan Mass Challenge (PMC) has been happening for 45 years. It is a leading expert in funding Cancer Research & donates 100% of every dollar raised to Cancer Research, Treatment & Care, with all funds going to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, who collaborates to make treatments Accessible to All. The PMC has a significant role in more than half of all FDA approved cancer drugs in the past 5 years. It is the world’s largest single event athletic fundraiser.

My personal story is I have ongoing monitoring for a non-cancerous brain tumor which has required two surgeries & Gamma Knife Radiation, a treatment developed to treat cancer. Although I have some challenges, I am thankful to be able to ride. I also continue to have ongoing close monitoring & intervention as required these past 12 months, related to two Malignant Melanomas & am thankful for advances in Sentinel Lymph Node Mapping improveing accuracy of cancer detection.

This is my third PMC Ride. I ride for my Mom & Dad, for Kathy & Doug who live bravely with Multiple Myeloma daily, for Rich , for Brenda, Mike ,Trina , Brittney & so many others I would love to write more about. My inspiration to Ride is my Dad, & the founder of our team, Jeff O’Donnell..
