Why I Ride ...
Hello Friends!
I am doing well and have chosen to ride in the 2-day, 200-mile Pan-Mass Challenge bicycle tour from Sturbridge to Provincetown in early August.
I am riding for two main reasons. A friend of mine had leukemia about 5 years ago and is graduating from a smaller charitable ride to the PMC. He had a very rough time with leukemia and vowed to ride the PMC if he survived. I have ridden together with him to increase his cycling ability and helped him finish 30 miles, 50 miles, 75 miles, and culminating at 107 miles in 2023. I want to help him complete his recovery goal of finishing the PMC in 2024!
From my own perspective, 2024 is 10 years from the discovery of my colon cancer in late 2014. I am cancer free so far. I will also be turning 60 this year so timing seems right for me.
I have made a personal commitment to raise $6000. I am just starting my fundraising and would greatly appreciate it if you could help me achieve this significant goal.
I am a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure.
