When family, friends, colleagues face tragedy, our first response is generally - Is there something I can do? Unfortunately, these kind and generous words rarely lead to action.
Over the last few years, I have lost my father, my brother Andy and my cousins Jim and Bernie to cancer. This past year, a close friend/colleague (Chris Plympton) and the young son of another friend (Andrew Reed) both have undergone stem cell treatment for cancer at Dana-Farber. Closer to home, my beautiful wife Sarah has just faced her third battle with cancer. I can no longer just sit back and watch their pain and these tragedies without taking action.
There are many worthy causes to advocate for and sponsor but the fight against cancer has special significance to me. To honor those we have lost and to help find a cure for all our family members (Anne, Nancy, Vicki...) and friends fighting this terrible disease, I will be biking the Pan-Mass Challenge - 186 miles - as part of team PATRIOTS PLATELET PEDALERS. Your donation is fully tax deductible and 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to continue their ground breaking cancer research. Its time to take ACTION!
