Why I Ride ...
After completing chemo and radiation for breast cancer in 1993 I rode 300 miles in three days from Boston to New York. My treatment was at Dana Farber and since that date, I have been healthy. Many of my friends and colleagues have received stellar treatment because of the advances in treatment made possible by the Jimmy Fund and I always tell them that by today's standards my treatement was medieval.
I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure. I am a proud member of the Patriot Platelet Pedalers [PPP] and the Quin Impact Fund. It is a a wonder that I am riding the 50 Mile Wellesley Hills Loop because I broke my arm in April and did not get the go ahead to ride until June only to be sabotaged by trigger finger/carpal tunnel. Good news-- the position of my hand on the bar-- actually relieves the carpal tunnel. Hakuna Matta-- no worries, for the rest of the day.
So now you know why my profile has not been robust. I feel great, I am riding so that others can be healthy and ride through their life. Onwards.
