Why I Ride ... Logan Schoenhardt; his battle is over...his legacy lives on.
The ride this year (2016) was emotional and urgent to me for many reasons - all of which are about Logan Schoenhardt. Logan was diagnosed with a very rare brain tumor (a sarcoma) at the age of 3. He turned 10 the end of August 2016. There are 12 known cases of the kind of cancer he has. All previous 11 cases have ended in death. None of them have lived as long as Logan. These are facts that many of you know and what comes next is very uncomfortable, sad and unfair. Logan’s battle ended in February 2017. His family has spent the last several months enjoying and living every moment to the fullest with Logan. Not waiting for Logan to die, but cherishing every moment and experience with him (they have been working through a bucket list). I want to share a blog post by Logan’s sister Keara and a video created by ESPN (which aired right before the Patriot’s game last Monday night). When you have a few quiet moments, please read the blog and view the video. And if you will, please share them with those you know.
