This August 3-4, I’ll once again be riding over 160 miles in the Pan-Mass Challenge to raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and, once again, I’m asking for contributions.
Since I started riding the PMC in 1986, I’ve managed to raise over $100,000 - this year, the PMC will have contributed over $1 Billion to the Dana-Farber since its founding in 1980! Thanks to corporate sponsorships, 100% percent of your contributions go straight to the Jimmy Fund for cancer research and treatment.
Over the last few years, several family members and close friends have been diagnosed with cancer, and their fights continue, but we’ve also seen amazing advances in fighting cancer. I know that all of you receive multiple requests for charitable contributions (including, for many of you, multiple requests from PMC riders), but I’m asking for your support for my 2024 PMC ride to help the Dana-Farber in its research and treatment efforts.
Since 1990, I’ve ridden the PMC with a group of friends as Team Elisha, named for the Biblical prophet known for his great healing powers. It’s always difficult to get in the training miles with our usual variable New England weather, and the PMC ride has seen a range of heavy rain, wind and heat over the years. Compared to the strength and courage of those fighting cancer, though, dealing with hills and bad weather becomes insignificant.
I welcome any and all (tax deductible) contributions to help me find a cure for cancer.
Thank you for your support!
-Michael
