2024 is my 29th year of volunteering for the PMC, the 28th year as a Team Captain, with Rider Registration/Check-in duties at two of the major PMC hub sites: The Sturbridge start, and the Mass. Maritime Finish.
For my husband Jeff, this is his 30th year as a rider. After sitting through the Friday evening Opening Ceremonies before his first ride in 1995, I was hooked! The next year, I volunteered to work Rider Registration in Sturbridge, and the year after that, I became in charge of that job!
Both our families have cancer histories, and as Jeff rides, and I work the weekend, our thoughts turn to those we've lost, and to those who've beaten this disease! Knowing our energies are helping fund a cure keeps us going year after year.
