Welcome

I began riding in the Pan Mass Challenge in 2001. I started riding as a way to honor my sister, mother and various family members who have battled cancer. Since my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and died more than 50 years ago, cancer has been an all too common word in our lives. My sister Linda died at the age of 32 years old after a 6 year battle with cancer. Linda was an athletic, intelligent and beautiful person inside and out. A young parent with a great family and always healthy. You don't plan for events like this in life, they just happen. The numbers are staggering and seem to be growing.

After more than 20 years of riding as a founding member of the Phil's Phriends team, I have come back for one more ride as an individual rider with a goal of raising $20,000. I am dedicating my ride this year to Todd Barth who recently passed away from this insidious disease. Todd had recently retired and was getting ready to enjoy his golden years with his wife and family only to be diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.

This is for you Todd...Rest in peace.
