I am beyond excited to ride in my second Pan-Mass Challenge the weekend of August, 4th!!!
I will again be riding for Team CRUS11TOUR in honor of my late friend, Davey Hovey. I met Davey at St Lawrence University where we played on the Men's Lacrosse team together. Davey embodied what it means to be a teammate, a competitor and a leader. So it will be in his spirit that I set out on this 2-day, 187-mile trek from Sturbridge to Provincetown, MA.
In 2015, shortly after his 25th Birthday, Davey was diagnosed with Stage IV Glioblastoma Multiforme, an aggressive form of brain cancer. He fought like he did in any competition - bravely taking on 5 brain surgeries and many rounds of treatments. Sadly, Davey passed away after his courageous 16-month battle. CRUS11TOUR is the name he gave to this fight, and the name that his family and friends now use to carry on his legacy and raise critical funds used to support brain cancer research.
Entering its 7th year, Team CRUS11TOUR has taken the PMC by storm, raising more than $3 Million for Brain Cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. 100% of money raised goes directly to the Dana Farber David Hovey - CRUS11TOUR Fund, to specifically fund Glioblastoma research by Davey's doctor, Dr. David Reardon.
I am so honored to ride in Davey's memory and in support of this great cause. Grateful for any donation you can make to this great cause. Thank you!
