Hi Family and Friends –

This August I will for the 2nd time join team FLAMES in the Pan Mass Challenge bike ride across Massachusetts. The team of over 100 riders includes Dana Farber Cancer Institute nurses, doctors, and former patients riding and raising money to support cutting edge cancer research and treatment.

100% of rider-raised funds go directly towards DFCI/Jimmy Fund efforts to develop treatments that change the lives of those with cancer and get one step closer to finding a cure.

Each of us are all too close to cancer. For me, both my mom and my best friend's mom battled breast cancer while we were young and somehow managed to keep us largely insulated from how scary that must have been – a testament to their strength and that of all survivors. My Uncle Doug was not as fortunate, and I ride to honor his memory.
