17 years of riding the PMC, I've met so many impacted by cancer, including my friend who lost her battle way too young. I ride for her always because she should be riding with me.

But this year it is even more personal, my mom has Hodgkins Lymphoma and is early in her treatment. She has a great prognosis, but it's a long road to the end. Her prognosis is great because of all the research that has been done to ensure this is a treatable cancer. I am grateful for all that research and I know that Dana Farber has been a leader in the advancements in treatment for Lymphomas.

My mom is a fighter. She will get through this. She has been the biggest supporter of my PMC efforts and been at lakeville almost every year before Covid. She knows the importance of the PMC and the work at done at DFCI, and damn, now she is benefiting from that work.

12 years ago we lost Stirling, and once again, Stirling's friends will ride with her name on our backs and her determination in our hearts. But this year it's even more personal. Cancer FU.
